Frank Dormer is a graduate of The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). 

He is the author-illustrator of THE SWORD IN THE STOVE (Atheneum), CLICK! (Viking), SOCKSQUATCH (Henry Holt) and THE OBSTINATE PEN (Henry Holt), as well as the illustrator of many other books for children, including the AGGIE AND BEN series of easy readers (Charlesbridge), and the middle grade series (HMH),THE ADVENTURES JO SCHMO. His book Firefighter Duckies released in 2017. His most recent books are Octopus Escapes, by Nathaniel Lachenmeyer, and Ebenezer Has a Word for Everything, by Chelsea Rowe. In 2021, Frank's first graphic novel, We Have a Playdate,(Abrams) was released.
